an informal group of people retired from the motor and allied trades in Ireland. We meet 5 or 6 times a year. Sometimes we go on to lunch, sometimes we visit a place of interest like Stormont Castle or the Maratime College in Ringaskiddy Co. Cork. One of our most recent trips was to Kilkenny Castle. The last line is a little addition exercise and is there to deter spammers from abusing our site. The referral page is for you to recommend this site to friends & colleagues etc.

CAR - A totally non-profit making organisation run primarily for its members who have spent at least part of their careers within the Irish Motor Industry or Allied Trades. We do not charge a membership fee, however we do collect a small donation in lieu of overheads and any surplus is donated to our own (SIMI) BEN fund on an annual basis Anybody is entitled to join CAR provided they comply with the rules above. They may have been a mechanic, a secretary, a car salesman or perhaps the managing director. All are welcome.

The best way to find out what our plans are is to check our Diary page on a regular basis. Our committee works months in advance and as ideas are developed we start putting the details online, updating as the event gets closer.

If we have your Mobile number or email we then inform you when the final details are completed.You can then pick and choose which outings you want to attend and which to miss. It is important however, that you book as early as possible as sometimes places are limited.

To facilitate people with other interests and those that work on a part time bases, we also vary the days of the week on which outings are held.

Sometimes we are asked if it would be possible to go back to a venue a second time because a member was unable to attend, and sometimes because the visit was so interesting. We are looking at the feasability of such visits in the future, but at the same time working on a full schedule for 2010.
